Thank you very much for your comment and question. "ao" is use when you place order in restaurant/to buy things at the shop say ao + noun(things you want to get) "khǎaw) is use when you need to ask for thing from someone. Here are some example
ao kâao-pàt kài 1 jaan, náam 2 kùat kráp = I will have fried rice with eggs and two bottles of water.
khǎaw tít-chûu nàwi kráp = May I have tissue please?
khǎaw náam-dtaan nàwi kráp = May I have some salt please?
