| Ja: "I heard some guy asked Ning to marry him." OK, what's the next phrase? |

| Ja: This phrase means something like "I'm leaving the naughty kid here." |

| Jing: Yes, but we can make it sound a little more natural in Thai by adding one other word. |
| Ja: What word is that? |
| Jing: The more common way to describe a habitual behavior in Thai would be to include the verb “ชอบ” before the verb that describes the action. |
| Ja: ชอบ means "to like" |
| Jing: ใช่ค่ะ สามารถใช้ในความหมายว่า "to like" และสามารถใช้ในความหมายว่า "to do habitually" ได้ด้วย |
| Ja: I see. How would you say the sentence then? |
| Jing: หนิงชอบนินทาทุกวัน |
| nǐng châawp nin-thaa thúk-wan. |
| Ja: "Ning likes to gossip every day." or "Ning has a habit of gossiping every day.” You said “นินทา” is often used with other verbs, too. |

| thâa phûut bao-bao khǎo gâaw hǎa-wâa nin-thaa.” |
| Ja: "If we speak softly, he’ll claim we’re gossiping." So in this case, the main verb was “หาว่า hǎa-wâa”, which means "to accuse". |
