| A: It's Muai. She ruined all the orchids that I just bought, but she says she didn't do it. I saw with my own eyes that she did it, but she won't admit it. She's got a bad attitude. |

| Ja: Hmm...That's pretty interesting. They do make her garden look more colorful. |

| Ja: This word can be used as a preposition meaning "until". |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ Usually, we use “กว่า gwàa” to mean "more than". However, “กว่า gwàa” can also be used as a preposition at the beginning of a sentence. |
| Ja: So if we use it this way, it means "until". What was the example from the conversation? |
| Jing: “กว่าจะออกดอกก็ต้องใช้เวลานาน |
| gwàa jà àawk dàawk gâaw dtâwng chái wee-laa naan.” |
| Ja: "It takes a long time until they bloom." or "Until they bloom it must take a long time." This preposition กว่า indicates that the speaker feels that it will be a long time until something happens. OK, what's the next phrase? |
| Jing: “เบาที่สุด bao thîi-sùt” |
| Ja: This phrase means "as lightly as possible". |
| Jing: ใช่ค่ะ คำว่า “เบา” เป็น adverb หมายความว่า "lightly", "softly", "quietly", หรือ "gently". คำว่า “ที่สุด” หมายความว่า "the most", "the utmost", หรือ "the greatest". |
| Ja: So then the expression “เบาที่สุด bao thîi-sùt” would mean "with the utmost gentleness." |

| Ja: And how do you use this in a sentence? |

| Ja: "I picked them as lightly as possible." OK, what's the last phrase? |
| Jing: “แต่ไม่ยอมรับ dtàae mâi yaawm ráp” |
| Ja: This means "but didn't admit to it". |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ คำว่า ยอมรับ สามารถใช้ความหมายว่า "to accept", "to admit",หรือ "to confess". |
| Ja: Actually “ยอมรับ” is a combination of the verbs “ยอม yaawm”, which means "to give in", and “รับ ráp”, which means to "accept" or "to take". And what was the sentence in the conversation that used this phrase? |
| Jing: “หมวยเป็นคนทำแต่ไม่ยอมรับ mǔuai bpen khon tham dtàae mâi yaawm ráp.” |
| Ja: "Muai is the one who did it, but she won't admit to it." โอเค ตอนนี้เรามาดู grammar กันนะคะ. Okay, now onto the grammar. |

| Ja: In this lesson, you’ll learn how to use “ตัดพ้อต่อว่า dtàt-pháaw-dtàaw-wâa” meaning "to accuse" or "to blame". |
| Jing: ใช่ค่ะ คำว่า “ตัดพ้อต่อว่า” เป็นกลุ่มคำ verb ที่สามารถใช้ในความหมายว่า "to blame", “to reproach” หรือ "to complain". |
| Ja: And this phrase is actually a combination of two other verbs that mean "to complain", “to reproach” or "to blame" when used individually. |
| Jing: ถูกต้องค่ะ แต่มีข้อแตกต่างนิดหน่อยคือ คำว่า “ต่อว่า dtàaw-wâa” หมายถึง “to complain” in general ส่วนคำว่า “ตัดพ้อ” หมายถึง “ต่อว่าด้วยความน้อยใจ” ค่ะ |
| Ja: So the verb “ตัดพ้อ” indicates that the subject complains with a hurt feeling or a feeling of being ignored, rather than just anger or dissatisfaction. This is a sensitive distinction. |

| enough time for her. I can sense Bow’s hurt feelings there. |
| So, how did we use “ตัดพ้อต่อว่า dtàt-pháaw-dtàaw-wâa” in the conversation? |

| Ja: So how would the sentence sound then? |
