Hello and welcome back to Thai weekly words with me Pratana. So what we would be learning today is fruits [ผลไม้] (phŏn-lá-máai) this should be fun. |
1.The first word is [กล้วย] (glûuai) banana |
[กล้วยน้ำว้า] (glûuai-náam-wáa) which is a kind of bananas in Thailand is smaller than [กล้วยหอม] (glûuai hǎawm) which is another kind of banana that looks like the bananas you already know [กล้วยน้ำว้า] (glûuai-náam-wáa) will be like this big but the bananas you probably know is like around this big, right and we do have many more kinds of bananas in Thailand, go bananas! The next word is |
2.[ลูกสตรอว์เบอร์รี] (lûuk sà-dtraaw-booe-rîi) strawberry |
[ภาคเหนือของไทยมีปลูกสตรอว์เบอร์รี] (phâak nǔuea khǎawng thai mii bplùuk sà-dtraaw-booe-rîi) strawberries are grown in the northern part of Thailand because it’s colder than the other parts, that’s why. |
3.The next word is [ส้ม] (sôm) orange |
[แม่บอกให้ทานส้มทุกวันเพื่อป้องกันหวัด] (mâae bàawk hâi thaan sôm thúk wan phûuea bpâwng-gan wàt) my mom told me to eat oranges everyday to prevent myself from getting a cold. |
4.The next word is [แตงโม] (dtaaeng-moo) watermelon. We have a lot of them in Thailand and that’s cheap too. So you should try watermelon |
[ฉันชอบทานแตงโมในหน้าร้อน] (chăn châawp thaan dtaaeng-moo nai nâa-ráawn) I like to eat watermelon in the summer. |
5.The next word is [ลูกเชอร์รี] (lûuk chooe-rîi) or cherry. We don’t have cherries in Thailand. We have to import it from other countries. |
[ในเมืองไทย เชอร์รีเป็นผลไม้ที่ราคาแพง] (nai muueang thai chooe-rîi bpen phŏn-lá-máai thîi raa-khaa phaaeng) Cherries are expensive fruits in Thailand |
