John: This is Must-know Thai Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 8. In this lesson, you'll learn slang expressions to describe how you feel. |

Jay: [SLOW] ขำๆ [NORMAL] ขำๆ |
John: Listeners, please repeat. |
Jay: ขำๆ |
[pause - 5 sec.] |
John: This expression has two meanings. First, it can describe being humorous or funny. This meaning is closer to the original meaning of the word, i.e. giggling. Second, it can be used as an adjective to say that something is “not serious” or “just casual.” This meaning comes from the fact that when you laugh or giggle, you tend to be in a casual or not serious mood. |
John: Now, let's hear an example sentence. |
Jay: [NORMAL] มันแค่คำถามขำๆ อย่าไปจริงจังอะไรมาก [SLOW] มันแค่คำถามขำๆ อย่าไปจริงจังอะไรมาก |
