John: Hi everyone, and welcome back to ThaiPod101.com. I'm John.
Jay: And I'm Jay!
John: This is Must-know Thai Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 24. In this lesson, you'll learn expressions about actions that annoy people.
John: These slang terms describe actions that easily make people frustrated.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
John: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are...
Jay: โชว์พาว (choo phaao)
Jay: เวิ่นเว้อ (wôen-wóoe)
Jay: แย่งซีน (yâaeng siin)
Jay: เท (thee)
John: Jay, what's our first expression?
Jay: โชว์พาว (choo phaao)
John: This literally means "have 'pow'” which is a shortened version of “power.” But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "for someone to show off that they are good at something."
Jay: [SLOW] โชว์พาว [NORMAL] โชว์พาว
John: Listeners, please repeat.

John: Now, let's hear an example sentence.
Jay: [NORMAL] พี่สาวของฉันชอบโชว์พาวว่าเหนือกว่าพี่น้องคนอื่น [SLOW] พี่สาวของฉันชอบโชว์พาวว่าเหนือกว่าพี่น้องคนอื่น
John: "My sister always tries to show off that she is better than others."
Jay: [NORMAL] พี่สาวของฉันชอบโชว์พาวว่าเหนือกว่าพี่น้องคนอื่น
John: Okay, what's the next expression?
Jay: เวิ่นเว้อ (wôen-wóoe)
John: This word doesn’t have a literal meaning, but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to whine, or to babble pointlessly."

Jay: [SLOW] แย่งซีน [NORMAL] แย่งซีน
John: Listeners, please repeat.
