Thank you very much for your comment. For your question, maybe they are just used to it, especially old people. It depends on when they started to have a dining table. If they just started to have one not long ago, then it's easy to just not be used to having a dining table.

Hi,
I have a question about food etiquette, when we sit down to eat at home in thailand my wife and her family prefer to eat cross legged on the floor even though we own a big dining table, I've asked my wife why but she says thats just how it is, I'm not a snob in streach of imagination, just curious as feet are considered dirty and feet go on the floor!
is this a culture, tradition, or comfort thing?
