| Now, let's take a look at some conversational phrases! |
| Listen to the dialogue. |
| ซุปเปอร์มาร์เก็ตอยู่ที่ไหนคะ (súp-bpôoe-maa-gêt yùu thîi năi khá) |
| มันอยู่ตรงนั้นครับ (man yùu dtrong nán khráp) |
| Once more with the English translation. |
| ซุปเปอร์มาร์เก็ตอยู่ที่ไหนคะ (súp-bpôoe-maa-gêt yùu thîi năi khá) |
| “Where is the supermarket?” |
| มันอยู่ตรงนั้นครับ (man yùu dtrong nán khráp) |
| “It's over there.” |
| First of all you'll need to learn how to say "Where is [place]?" |
| The pattern is: |
| [place]อยู่ที่ไหน ([place] yùu thîi năi) |
| This Thai sentence literally translates as "[place] is where?" But it means "Where is [place]?". |
| For example: |
| "Where is the supermarket?" |
| ซุปเปอร์มาร์เก็ตอยู่ที่ไหนคะ, ซุปเปอร์มาร์เก็ตอยู่ที่ไหนคะ (súp-bpôoe-maa-gêt yùu thîi năi khá, súp-bpôoe-maa-gêt yùu thîi năi khá) |
