[ขอโทษ - khǎaw-thôot] - “I am sorry”. For the word [ขอโทษ - khǎaw-thôot] we have two meanings. First is “sorry” and the second one is “excuse me”. You want to call someone like “excuse me”, you can say [ขอบโทษค่ะ khǎaw-thôot khâ] something like that. |
[อะไร - à-rai] - “What?”. When people talk too fast, I don’t really follow what they are talking about. I would say like “what? what?”. So in Thai, you say [อะไร - à-rai], [อะไรนะ |
à-rai ná], [อะไรอ่ะ - a-rai a], [อะไรนะ - à-rai ná] .So it’s like “what?”. |
[จริง - jing] - “True”. [จริง - jing] means “true” or “really”. When they say something and you want to ask them “really?”, “is it like that?”, “really?”, you can say [จริงหรอ jing rǎaw], [จริงอ่ะ - jing a], [จริงหรอคะ - jing rǎaw khâ], something like this. |

This is another way to say “goodbye” but in formal way like, [สวัสดี - sà-wàt-dii], [สวัสดีค่ะ - sà-wàt-dii khâ], [สวัสดีครับ - sà-wàt-dii kráp]. |
