| 1. ประเทศฉันดีกว่า (bprà-thêet chăn dii gwàa) "My country is better." |
| Okay. I mean like why do you want to compare your country with a country that you are visiting. Right? It doesn’t make sense. |
| 2. หุบปาก! (hùp bpàak) "Shut up!" |
| Yeah. I don’t think that this is a good word for new one like even though you are not a tourist, you shouldn’t say it. |
| 5. ฉันไม่สนใจวัฒนธรรมของคุณ (chăn mâi sŏn jai wát-thá-ná-tham khǎawng khun) "I'm not very interested in your culture." |
| I mean, you don’t need to be interested in other cultures but you shouldn’t say it. |
| 6. ฉันไม่ชอบพบเจอคนใหม่ๆ (chăn mâi châawp phóp jooe khon mài mài) "I don't like meeting new people." |
| I think one of the fun thing when you travel is to meet local people, meet new friends, meet other people from other countries you know like if you don’t want to meet new people, then it’s kind of you shut yourself in – yeah, that’s kind of bad. |
| 7. ดูสกปรก (duu sòk-gà-bpròk) "Looks dirty." |
| Well, I mean like if it’s very dirty, then I mean, it’s all right but just keep your tone softer. Okay, I give you one trick. If you want to comment about something like this is dirty, this is disgusting or anything, one thing that you can do is, you use a positive word and use the word – and make it a negative. So that sounds a bit softer. So, in this case, rather than saying ดูสกปรก (duu sòk-gà-bpròk) you could say [*] It doesn’t look so clean, something like that. |
| 8. น่าเบื่อ (nâa bùuea) "Boring!" |
| Yeah. I mean, if you feel it’s boring, then you just walk away. You don’t have to say it, you know. |
| 9. รสชาติแย่ (rót châat yâae) "This tastes awful." |
| If you want to comment on a food that is not really good, rather than saying [*] this tastes awful, you could say [*] The taste doesn’t really suit me. Suit my own taste. |
| 10. ก็แค่ประเทศด้อยพัฒนา (gâaw khâae bprà-thêet dâauy phát-thá-naa) "Just an undeveloped nation." |
| Okay. I mean, it’s quite funny. I mean, it’s quite a funny phrase but – Okay no but. I shouldn’t comment on anything. |
| 11. งี่เง่า (ngôo) "This is stupid." |
| Another word of stupid is [*] however [*] means like stupid intelligently but [*] means like you do something silly, more of you know to that side. |
| 12. พวกคุณมันป่าเถื่อน (phûuak khun man bpàa thùuean) "You people are uncivilized." |
| If you say that other people are uncivilized, then, you are the one who are uncivilized. |
