Hello, guys! Welcome back, I’m Jay again! So today we’re going to do Top 10 Phrases You Never Want to Hear. Let’s go!
1. ก็บอกแล้ว (gâaw bàawk láaeo) "I told you so."
ก็บอกแล้วใช่ป้ะ (gâaw bàawk láaeo châi bpâ) So is means, "I told you so, right?"
Quite scary, I know it’s not polite. So, when you use it make sure that the person is very very close to you and they are willing to forgive you, if you say that, okay?
(khàawp-khun thîi sŏn jai sà-màk ngaan gàp rao dtàae dtam-nàaeng ngaan dtem láaeo)
"Thank you for your resume. However, the position has been filled."
Things that you expect to hear when you submit a CV or resume, right? I mean, that’s disappointing.
3. ขอโทษ ฉันลืม (khǎaw-thôot chǎn luuem) "Sorry, I forgot."
You can use it when you forgot something, or you forgot to do something. Like, if a person like your mother asks you to clean house and you forgot to do it. So you can say this to her, like, ขอโทษ ฉันลืม (khǎaw-thôot chǎn luuem),
Or, ขอโทษ ผมลืม (khǎaw-thôot phǒm luuem) for guys.
4. คุณถูกไล่ออก (khun thùuk lâi àawk) "You're fired."
คุณถูกไล่ออก (khun thùuk lâi àawk)
Luckily, I have not had this experience, luckily! So behave well, don’t do something bad.
5. คุณมีผมขาว (khun mii phǒm khăao) "You have a gray hair."
It’s not a good phrase that you want to hear.
คุณมีผมขาว (khun mii phǒm khăao)
6. ช่วงนี้ อ้วนขึ้นหรือเปล่า (chûuang níi ûuan khûuen rǔue bplào) "Have you gained weight recently?"
If you’re foreigners maybe you won’t be experiencing this but for Thai, when they meet each other, like, let’s say, after a while they meet each other again, like, they will comment about each other’s appearance like, “Have you gained weight?” or “Are you getting fatter?”, “Oh! Are getting like slimmer?” I don’t know why, it is just the way we say things about each other without any bad intention.
7. วันนี้ไม่มีตังค์ (wan níi mâi mii dtang) "I don't have your money today."
I don’t encourage you to say this sentence because if you borrow someone money, you need to pay them back, right? I mean yeah, you should shouldn’t say it at all. You should, you know, borrow someone just return it as much as possible.
8. เธอดีเกินไป (thooe dii gooen bpai) "It's not you, it's me."
เธอดีเกินไป (thooe dii gooen bpai)
You need to find excuse so this is one perfect excuse to say. So when you hear that, you know that the person doesn’t want to be with you already. Sorry, if you hear that before but yeah, at least they don’t want to hurt your, you know, your feelings. So they choose this phrase. That’s the good part though.
9. เราน่าจะลองไปเจอใครใหม่ๆ ดูบ้าง (rao nâa jà laawng bpai jooe khrai mài mài duu bâang) "We should see other people."
Not a good feeling at all.
10. ขอยืมเงินหน่อย (khǎaw yuuem ngooen nàauy) / ขอยิมตังค์หน่อย (khǎaw yuuem dtang nàauy) “Can I borrow your money?"
Or, ขอยืมเงินหน่อย (khǎaw yuuem ngooen nàauy)
If they’re like good friends of yours then it’s fine but you know, someone, sometimes people just want to borrow your money but you don’t want to.
Okay, finish! Thank you for today! We are done. I hope that no one will say these phrases to you. Anyway, we have done Ten Phrases You Never Want to Hear, and please don’t forget to subscribe to our channel. See you next time!
