Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Jay: If you need something urgently, you can add châi mǎi? at the end of the question to emphasize your request. This is a particle indicating a yes or no question. For example, if you really need a phone now, you can ask your friend saying khun mii thoo-rá-sàp, châi mǎi? It means “You have a phone, don’t you?” But be sure to use this phrase only in an informal situation.

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Jay: สวัสดี ค่ะ
